Cleaning Tips

Want to go Greener with your own home cleaning?  You'll be shocked at how effective these cleaning tips and cleaning solution recipes are despite being homemade and mostly natural.  Countless hours have gone into researching and perfecting these cleaning recipes so please enjoy!  They are what we actually use providing cleaning and maid services in Phoenix. These recipes are very safe.  Most are made from food!  These are environmentally safe to manufacture, store, use, and dispose of. The only exception may be the alcohol, please use caution with this ingredient.

Shopping list: baking soda, white vinegar, olive oil, salt, rubbing alcohol, Borax (in the laundry section), castile soap (I could only find it in bar form at Fry's).

Supplies: reusable microfiber rags, terry cloth rags, spray bottles, cheese shaker.

Spray Bottle Cleaning Products

Glass Cleaner:
Water - 1 cup
Vinegar - 1/2 cup
Alcohol - 1/4 cup

All Purpose Cleaner:
Water - 2 cups
Borax - 1tbs
Liquid Castile Soap - 1 tbs
Vinegar - 1 tbs
For heavier grease-cutting needs use half as much water.

Wood/Leather Furniture Polish:
Vinegar - 1/2 cup
Olive Oil - 1/2 cup
This ratio can change depending on your furniture.  I like to have more vinegar because of all of the paw prints on my furniture.  If it's not real wood you may want less oil.

Cheese Shaker Cleaning Products

Mild Abrasive:
Baking Soda - 2 cups
Borax - 2 tbs
Castile Soap - 1 tbs

Heavy Abrasive:
Salt - 1/4 cup
Baking Soda - 1 cup

Powdered Toilet Cleaner:
Borax

Floor Cleaner

Vinegar - 1/2 cup
Water - 1 gallon
More vinegar has more cutting power, but this ratio generally works fine.
